What kinds of piercings do you offer?

Black Hole is a professional piercing studio that offers all types of body piercings, from simple earlobes to advanced piercings like surface work and genitals. Our piercers are knowledgeable and well-trained and guarantee their work. We only pierce with the highest quality body jewelry.

Do I need an appointment? Do you take walk-ins?

For all services—including browsing our jewelry selection--appointments are recommended, and most week days walk-ins are welcome. Weekends can be busy, so booking ahead is best—but if you drop by, we’ll do our best to fit you in!

Do you have parking?

Yes we do! We have a full sized parking lot accessible from northbound Virginia Street. If you're heading south, use the roundabout to get turned around so you can turn right into the lot.

Can I bring my family and friends with me to my appointment?

Absolutely! Because we are a small studio, we may limit parties while viewing jewelry; however, we typically can accommodate all guests during our piercing services!

My friend and I both want piercings. How can I book multiple appointments easily?

Our booking website makes it easy! Just add multiple services to your appointment, and include everyone’s names in the survey section. If you have any questions or run into trouble, call us at (775) 329-6010 or email us at [email protected].

How much does a piercing cost?

Our piercing fees vary depending on the skill level and time required. $40-$50 is typical for most piercings. All piercings come with Sterile Saline Spray and free follow-up care. Multiple piercings and genitals have additional fees. Jewelry is not included in the piercing fee and is purchased separately. The average piercing with our most simple jewelry styles is $75-$110. The final cost depends primarily on the jewelry you choose.

Can I bring jewelry to get pierced with?

If the jewelry is from us or another studio with an APP member, most likely, yes! You will need to drop off your jewelry at least two hours before your appointment so we can make sure it is the correct size and style for your brand-new piercing and verify which vendor it is from. We also charge a small fee to clean and sterilize it so it is safe to use.

If your jewelry is not from an APP-verified vendor, unfortunately, we cannot use it. However, we have many options available in-studio.

Can I talk to a piercer about my piercing troubles?

Yes—schedule a free consultation and talk to a piercer one-on-one about current or future piercings. We will help you troubleshoot.

How old do you have to be to get a piercing?

For earlobes, you have to be at least 5 years of age or older! For anything else, you must be at least 14 years of age or older! We need extra documentation in place to pierce minors, so please see our Minor Info page for more details.

Please note, we will not perform genital, nipple, or surface work on a minor.

What is the APP?

The APP stands for the Association of Professional Piercers. Our piercers are proud members of it! It is a united group of piercing professionals that freely shares information to help fellow members, piercers, health care professionals, legislators, health inspectors, and the general public get the best and most up-to-date information about body piercing.

Can I talk to a piercer about my piercing goals? Does Black Hole offer curations?

Yes! If you’d like one-on-one time to style a complete look, book a Curation Appointment. These appointments are specifically for creating a unique look based on goals you have in mind. During your appointment with a professional piercer or jewelry specialist, we will guide you through planning for the future whether it be for new piercings or updating existing piercings. We stock a large selection of implant-grade body jewelry to fit all styles and budgets.

When and why should I come in for a check-up?

We suggest clients come in for a free check-up 6 weeks after getting a brand-new piercing. This allows a piercer to take a look at your piercing, make sure everything is healing as expected, and go over any questions you may have. We also can downsize a piercing in which the post has become too long, this helps to avoid irritation and angling during the healing process. When applicable, downsizing is a very important part of the healing process!
